I have recently had an opportunity to sew some gifts for my friends and for
my family.
I do not know if you feel the same, but I just love to give some gifts to
others. I hate those random gifts, so it takes me a loooooooooot of time
to plan each one.
Maybe it's strange but that's how
it's in my case... I love to prepare
gifts that make the person who receives them happy, and also it gives me an
incredible pleasure to prepare them.
I'll begin with a bag which I made for my husband's beloved niece,
Patricia. Patricia has recently had her 15th birthday and I was thinking
that the bag would be a great gift idea for a teenager. I made it using the
Boston Bag pattern (you can buy it here).
The bag is extremely robust. All sides of the bag are strongly braced and
reinforced. By the way, during my next workshop I will give you a hint what
tricks you can use so that the bag sewn by you would be strong, rigid and
durable :)
Tak się ostatnio złożyło, że miałam okazję uszyć kilka prezentów dla moich przyjaciół i rodziny.
Nie wiem jak Wy,ale ja wprost uwielbiam obdarowywać innych. Nie znoszę tzw. przypadkowych prezentów, dlatego zaplanowanie każdego zajmuje mi baaaardzo dużo czasu. Może to dziwne,ale tak już mam... Uwielbiam robić prezenty, które sprawiają ogromną radość obdarowanym,a mi niesamowitą przyjemność przygotowania.
Zacznę od torebki, którą uszyłam dla ukochanej siostrzenicy mojego męża, Patrycji. Patrycja miała niedawno 15-te urodziny i pomyślałam,że torebka to świetny pomysł na prezent dla nastolatki. Uszyłam ją korzystając z wzoru Boston Bag (można go kupić
tutaj).
Torba jest niezwykle solidna. Ma mocno usztywnione i wzmocnione wszystkie boki. Przy okazji wspomnę,że na najbliższych warsztatach podpowiem Wam jakich tricków można użyć,aby uszyta przez Was torba była mocna, sztywna i bardzo trwała:)
In the original pattern the handbag has shorter handles. I have lengthened
them a bit so that it could be worn on the shoulder.
W oryginalnym wzorze torebka ma krótsze uchwyty. Wydłużyłam je nieco po to żeby można ją było nosić na ramieniu.
The next gifts are
gloves and kitchen holders. To sew them I reached for the Riley Blake
Designs fabrics and leftovers from previous workshops. There were lots of
triangles left and they matched perfectly here. Inside I put a double layer
cotton batting of the Pellon company that is a great insulation. I quilted
everything using the Aurifil threads.
Kolejne upominki to rękawice i uchwyty kuchenne. Aby je uszyć sięgnęłam po tkaniny firmy Riley Blake Designs oraz resztki z poprzednich warsztatów. Zostało nam wówczas sporo trójkątów, które idealnie tutaj pasowały. Wewnątrz umieściłam podwójną warstwę włókniny bawełnianej firmy Pellon, która stanowi świetną izolację.Całość przepikowałam używając nici firmy Aurifil.
As a supplement of the gifts I have ordered dedicated notepads and pens. I
hope they will enjoy the gifts.
Jako uzupełnienie upominków zamówiłam dziewczynom spersonalizowane notesy i długopisy. Mam nadzieję,że ucieszą się z prezentów.
